Farm to Child Farmers' Market

• When:    FRIDAY, AUGUST 6, 2010 from 2-7 pm
• Where:   The 4-C complex at 5 Odana Court, Madison
• What:

• Talk to 4-C nutritionists & staff
• Learn how to create & sustain easy, child-friendly gardens
• See how to garden in containers, small spaces or raised beds
• Learn about the advantages of growing & buying local & seasonal produce
• Get ideas for healthy & nutrious meals -- fresh from the garden to the table
• Gardening techniques and advice from Master Gardener's 
• Live music!

Through support from the ConAgra Foods Foundation, the 4-C CACFP (The 4-C Child and Adult Care Food Program) is excited to offer the “Farm to Child Farmers Market”.  This event will bring together local farmers, master gardeners, and the Bruce Company to teach child care providers, children, and families about growing, preparing, and serving fresh, healthy food.  In this time of increasing concern over childhood obesity and childhood hunger, the 4-C CACFP, in collaboration with the Bruce Company, is proud to be part of the solution.
