Honoring the Legacy of Our Founder, Lee Bruce

As we reflect following the celebration of his life, we pause to honor the memory of our founder, Lee Bruce, who passed away on Thursday, July 16, and was laid to rest on Monday, July 27.

In 1952, a young Lee borrowed a tractor and began plowing his neighbors’ gardens — determined to earn his way to the National Boy Scout Jamboree in California. That boy’s ambition became The Bruce Company, which has served Wisconsin’s homes, businesses, and communities for more than seven decades.

Lee believed in hard work, quality craftsmanship, and doing right by customers—principles that continue to guide our company today. His vision created more than a business; it created opportunities for generations of employees, lasting relationships with countless customers, and a legacy that has helped shape the landscape industry throughout our region.

As we remember Lee, we do so with gratitude for his vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence. His influence lives on in the work we do, the people who make up our company, and the communities we are privileged to serve.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Lee’s family and all who knew him.

Thank you, Lee, for building something that will continue to grow for generations to come.
