Growing up along the shores of Lake Michigan, I spent countless hours exploring the beaches, searching for interesting rocks, fossils, and other little treasures washed up along the shoreline. What started as a childhood fascination turned into a lifelong appreciation for the incredible beauty, detail, and design found in nature.
Fortunately, my wife, Lacey, shares that same fascination. Together, we’ve always appreciated the remarkable treasures found in the natural world, and we began dreaming of a unique way to showcase them so others could enjoy their beauty too.
That’s how Devonian Coast and our treasure candles came to life.
Each candle is handcrafted using crystal-clear gel wax, with genuine stones, fossils, shells, and other natural treasures carefully arranged inside. The clear wax allows you to admire every detail, whether the candle is burning or simply sitting on a shelf.
What began with treasures inspired by the Great Lakes has since grown to include ancient fossils, beautiful minerals, and fascinating finds from the ocean. Each one has its own story, and we love finding new ways to share these little wonders of nature.
Today, we’re proud to handcraft our candles right here in Northern Michigan. What began as a shared love of nature has grown into something we never could have imagined, and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing others discover the same beauty and wonder that inspired us in the first place.

One of our favorite things to hear from customers is how the warm glow of a burning candle reminds them of a sunset over the water. In a way, that’s exactly what we hoped to capture: a little piece of the shoreline experience that you can bring home or share with someone special.
But what makes our candles truly unique is that the story doesn’t end when the candle burns out. The treasures inside are real, hand-selected specimens meant to be retrieved, enjoyed, and kept for years to come.
