Why Choose Amaryllis Bulbs?
Unmatched Beauty
With bold, trumpet-shaped flowers in vibrant reds, crisp whites, soft pinks, and striking patterns, Amaryllis instantly adds elegance to any room, garden, or gift.
Easy to Grow – No Green Thumb Required!
Amaryllis bulbs are famously low-maintenance. They thrive indoors with minimal care — ideal for beginners, busy people, and kids.
Winter Blooms that Brighten Cold Days
While most plants go dormant in winter, amaryllis comes alive. Plant in late fall and enjoy full blooms during the holidays and into the new year.
Reusable Year After Year
Unlike cut flowers, amaryllis bulbs can be saved and replanted. With simple care, they’ll bloom again season after season — more value for your money.
Instant Decor Upgrade
The tall, elegant stems and bright blooms look stunning in modern, rustic, or festive homes. From holiday table centerpieces to living room accents and office conversation starters.
Calm & Rewarding Growing Ritual
Watching your amaryllis grow — from sprout to bud to full bloom — brings a sense of peace, patience, and connection to nature.
So Simple! Steps to Care for Amaryllis
1. Choose Your Pot
- Use a pot about 6–8 inches deep with drainage holes.
- The bulb should fit snugly, with about an inch of space around the sides.
2. Add Soil
- Use The Bruce Company’s own blend of potting mix.
- Place the bulb with the pointed end up and the bottom two-thirds buried in soil.
3. Water Lightly
- Water once when planting.
- Then water sparingly until growth appears – just enough to keep the soil slightly moist.
4. Let the Light In
- Place in a warm, bright spot with indirect sunlight to speed up their growth.
- Once it starts growing, rotate the pot every few days to keep it growing straight.
5. Bloom Care
- Your amaryllis will bloom in about 6–8 weeks after planting.
6. Rebloom Care
-
Water and fertilize your amaryllis throughout the summer months.
-
Around Labor Day, begin the dormancy process. Trim back the foliage and gently remove the bulb from its soil.
-
Place the bulbs in a shallow box and store them in a cool, airy, dry, and dark place.
-
In mid-November, replant the bulbs in fresh potting mix and water lightly.
